About Me

My Approach and How I Can Support You

Welcome to my therapy practice.

I’m a fully qualified, BACP-registered therapist, here to offer you a compassionate and supportive space where you can begin to heal, grow and reconnect with yourself. My approach is grounded in warmth, empathy and respect for your individual journey — whether you’re navigating a period of grief, coping with anxiety, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself.

I use an integrative approach, drawing from Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Clinical Hypnotherapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and Bereavement support. Together, we tailor our work in a way that feels natural and supportive for you, moving at your pace in a safe and meaningful environment.

However you arrive at therapy, know that you are welcome here — and that we can move forward at your pace, in a way that feels safe and meaningful for you.

Professional Background and Experience

With over 15 years of therapeutic experience, I have worked in a variety of settings, including private hospitals, the NHS, and private practice. I spent seven years as a CBT therapist at the Priory Group, supporting adults in inpatient and day patient hospital settings. Here, I led individual and group therapy sessions focused on anxiety, OCD, and depression, using evidence-based techniques such as Exposure Therapy and cognitive restructuring.

Additionally, I worked for four years as a psychotherapist with Nuffield Health, providing Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) to help employees manage stress, improve motivation, and foster healthy workplace relationships.

I am also a Clinical Hypnosis Practitioner with over six years of experience, specialising in treating phobias and anxiety. My commitment to bereavement support continues through voluntary work at a local hospice. If you have questions or would like to learn more about how I can support you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Qualifications and Professional Accreditation

My therapeutic practice is firmly grounded in solid professional training and ongoing development. I hold a Diploma in Counselling and Group Work with a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach, which equips me to work effectively both one-on-one and in group settings. In addition, I am certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), a powerful and evidence-based technique particularly effective for trauma and distressing memories.

To further support clients through loss and grief, I have completed specialised training as a Grief Educator, enabling me to provide sensitive and informed bereavement care. I am also a certified Scottish Mental Health First Aid Trainer, which enhances my ability to recognise and respond compassionately to mental health challenges.

To ensure the highest standards of care and professionalism, I am fully accredited and approved by major private healthcare providers such as BUPA, AVIVA, AXA Health (formerly AXA PPP), and CIGNA. This accreditation means you can have confidence in the quality and ethical standards of the therapy I provide, knowing it aligns with industry best practices and rigorous professional guidelines.
